The Armpit of California

We have trailer parks, crystal meth, the largest HIV-infected population in Kern County, and gangs with memberships in the hundreds, possibly thousands. Yet, there is more filth to be discovered! I am a journalist-in-training (at least that's what I like to call myself), and a very good listener. And once in a while, I happen to stumble upon the very gritty underbelly of a town that is already known as the "armpit of California." Someday I hope to find a bright side, but I haven't yet, so in the meantime enjoy the decline of society with me!
